As we exit August, I can feel the first hints of autumn in the air. Night temperatures have started to drop and there are the beginnings of colour changes in the arboretums. I hope we still get to see a little sunshine in September.....

July has been a challenging month for us here in the gardens. While we were delighted to see the sun and feel the balmy summer temperatures, it did create problems with watering.....

As June draws to a close, I find myself running around the gardens dragging hoses here and there as we try to keep up with watering. That said, I would not change the weather......

May's mixed messages...

May was a difficult month in the gardens. With heavy rainfall and low temperatures, it has been a challenge. On the plus side, the gardens are an absolute sea of colour at present.......

An Exceptional April

April has been an absolute joy here in the gardens. The colours throughout the borders are exceptional this year. The relatively settled and warmer weather has meant an extended flowering time for our cherries, magnolias, camellias, and early rhododendrons........

Magnificent Magnolias in March

March has been another busy month in the gardens and I’m enjoying viewing the stunning colours around every corner. With displays from the Rhododendrons, Magnolias, Camellias and Cherries, as well as an array of bulb varieties, it is certainly a feast for the eyes.....
